The Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has made it known to Nigerians, via his Chief Press Secretary Kayode Idowu, that he has no plan whatsoever to go on any terminal leave. He stated this in an interview on a TV programe monitored in Lagos that Prof Jega has no such plans on going on terminal leave, as he was busy, planing for elections. He further stated, that the speculations about his resignation were only but rumours, and since the office of the INEC Chairman is not subject to the Public Service Rules 100238, that the Prof. cannot be forced to proceed on his terminal leave.
