The United States Secretary of State John Kerry in a statement released yesterday, 8th February 2015, stated that the US Government is dissapointed over the postponement of the Nigerian 2015 general elections.
"Political interference with the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] is unacceptable, and it is critical that the government not use security concerns as a pretext for impeding the democratic process," Kerry said.
Attahiru Jega announced the postponement on saturday 7th Febraury, citing security concerns as the reason for the shift of polls.
